Fish Stories September 10, 2000 This beautiful trout was caught on an overcast morning on September 10, 2000. It was landed under very interesting circumstances. Chrissie Blum, a local Copco Lake Resident was fishing a hole when a rattlesnake was noticed coming up behind her to apparently dine on an unsuspecting lizard that was warming itself on a nearby rock. As this occurrence became more of a concern to Chrissie, she got a huge "hit" on her line. As the rattlesnake was being held at bay, Chrissie struggled and finally pulled this 19 3/4 inch, 2 pound 12 oz. trout out of the swift running water. The rattlesnake retreated and Chrissie was very excited over her great catch. July 27, 2001 It was getting very tiring pulling in hooks and worms loaded with weeds. Judy Probst, a former Copco Lake resident grabbed a pole that had an 1/8 oz Panther Martin spinner that she had used previously in the upper river and tossed it in. The wind was carrying the boat along the lake at a pretty good clip when her pole "bogged" down again. A few "expletives" later, she began reeling in her line to clean off more of the nasty weeds, so she thought. What she found on the end of her line was a little more substantial than just weeds.
