Labor Day 2000 Fishing Derby Results

People fishing for that record catch at Copco Lake were in contention with Mother Nature. It would take more than a little rain to dampen the spirits of these ambitious anglers.

This is an event that is held twice a year by the Copco Lake Sportsmen Club. Members fish for that record catch in a number of categories. Everyone meets at the local Community Center in the late afternoon for weighing and measuring. First, second and third place winners are announced, followed by payment of cash prizes.

This is followed by the traditional festivities of hamburgers and hot dogs. Also included is a drawing for a handmade quilt and pillows. This is organized by the Copco Lake Fire Auxiliary as a way to raise money for the local volunteer fire department.

These are the results for the Labor Day 2000 Fishing Derby. (Not all people who placed, or all fish were present for pictures, some were released).
